Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek reacted to the federation’s decision to establish a commission on championships before 1959.
Making a statement to the club television, Özbek stated that it is not correct to ignore the decisions taken by the previous federations.
Emphasizing that federations should not make decisions to please anyone, Özbek said, “The federation needs to put its hat in front of it and think again. So that opens the door. Tomorrow we will reveal the decisions taken by this federation, we will discuss it. There is no end to it. Noting that the decision in question had previously gone to arbitration, Özbek continued as follows:
“The federation needs to be very careful. I said here yesterday, there will be someone else tomorrow saying ‘I don’t like this decision, let’s set up a board again, let’s examine this issue again’. There is no end to this. Moreover, this decision has already gone to arbitration “We started to question the decision of the arbitration. That is, that arbitration also made a mistake. It is nothing but an attempt to do the right thing now. I think this is very inappropriate. Noting that they found the federation’s decision to establish a committee very wrong, Özbek said, “It was a very wrong decision. It will be said. There are many things, but we are trying to focus on football instead of sparking the event. Let’s focus on Turkish football, these are decisions taken outside the green field, not decisions within football. Some friends always have such a desire. Explaining that he sees ignoring the decisions taken in the past as a betrayal of the aforementioned administrations, Özbek concluded his speech as follows:
