Fenerbahçe Opet defeated Galatasaray HDI Sigorta 3-0 in the derby, which was postponed from the 19th week in the Misli.com Sultans League in volleyball.
In the match that started at a brisk pace, the yellow-dark blue team, leading 8-3 with Fedorovtseva’s points, maintained the difference with Eda Erdem, Vargas and Meliha contributing to the score load and made the first set 25-18.
Starting the second set well and leading 7-4 against their opponent, Vasilantonaki and Caratasu scored consecutive points and the home team melted the gap: 7-8. In this episode, the guest team caught the series with Eda Erdem and Naz, outscored 12-7 and forced their opponent to take a break. The yellow-red team again became a partner in the set, bringing the score to 18-18 on the return from the timeout. The yellow-dark blue team, who fell back 8-5 at the beginning of the third set, but caught the 8-1 series and took the lead with a score of 13-9, made fewer mistakes in the last part where the gap was closed (17-17), and the set was 25-22, won the game 3-0.
Galatasaray came out with a banner reading “Peace at home, peace in the world” on the pre-match ceremony.
