The famous Roman artist died suddenly following a fall from a window of his home in Corchiano, in the province of Viterbo, on April 3, 2004. She was 61 years old. On her grave, in the Verano Monumental Cemetery in Rome, a poem by her husband Seva Borzak was written, which read: «At night your eyes shone brighter than the day light, your love warmed more than the sun».
With Seva Borzak, the immense singer – most famous for her interpretations of Roman folk songs – he had a son, Seva Borzak Jr, who he has always been very attached to the artist. As he himself has said several times.

Son Seva Borzak Jr: “I rediscovered her when I left home”
In an interview with Today is another day of Serena Bortone, for example, Seva Borzak Jr wanted to remember his mother. «I often see her on video. And I also listen to it at home with my children. It is part of our daily life. I have six children. Three met mom. The largest, Nadia, had a very deep and complicit relationship with her: it is the one that resembles her the most and that has followed in her footsteps in the world of music».
And he added. «I discovered her artistically in my adolescence. Before, I was very jealous of her work because it took her away from me. I rediscovered it when I left home. She was an avant-garde musician. You had the courage to explore the musical culture of other peoples, bringing it to contaminate and bring new ideas ».

Seva Borzak Jr did not have time to say goodbye to his mother for the last time, following the accident in which she lost her life. «They gave me the news while I was in Rome, where I had moved with my family. I took the bike and left, but unfortunately when I arrived it was already too late. Mom was still in a good time. She had started working again and was happy with my return to Italy, which I had left at the age of 14 to go and study abroad ».
As a child, Gabriella Ferri was not for him the great artist we all know and remember with immense gratitude. She was just his mother. «I confided in her all the confidences a child can do. I was an only child and had no competition». And he explained. «As a child I fell in love, I was in second grade and I declared myself. She reciprocated. First of all, I told my mom, I could talk about everything with her. He advised me to do everything with love. To always be in the sphere of love in everything I did…».
Seva Borzak Jr added. «I remember her both depressed and sunny. She had moments of deep happiness, joy and harmony as opposed to turbulent, difficult moments of fear and anxiety. We are all subject to it, those who are more sensitive suffer the most. I consoled her. I helped her. I was there for her. She needed a caress. I tried not to burden her with my problems.’
