The shoe supplier Gabor Shoes AG was able to grow strongly in the past year despite adverse conditions. On Friday, the Rosenheim-based company announced that it was able to achieve total sales of 325 million euros in 2022. This means that revenues increased by around a quarter compared to the previous year. The sales volume grew accordingly from 5.6 to 6.7 million pairs of shoes.
CEO Achim Gabor was satisfied with the latest development: “In 2022 things went uphill for us again, although we stopped our business in Russia,” he said in a statement. “The positive trend was evident in all business areas and in almost all markets.”
Despite the ongoing burdens from the effects of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and rising costs, the company is “cautiously optimistic” about 2023. Gabor sees opportunities “above all in the export markets”. Most recently, foreign business accounted for 45 percent of total sales.
