The federal ministers in the core cabinet agreed to an agreement on the defense budget for 2035, which was expected to be 2 percent of the bbp, so as to be reported within the NAVO. Aan het accord zijn zes Voorwaarden connected. So the money that is invested in the defense of the sea will be increased for the Belgian economy and the population and that investments will not cost anything for the money that is best for the sea.
‘Bad intent’
In a reactie zondag laakt de N-VA dat in het akkoord grandson sprake is van een ‘intentie’ en dat he geen budgettair traject is vastly leged. De regering gaat hiermee in tegen haar own regeerakkoord, shows N-VA-Camerlid Theo Francken.
Some of the merits of this accord is that the premier met ‘een intentie’ on the cruciale NAVO-top in Madrid zal kunnen, aldus de N-VA’er, volgens like het “afwachten is op de reactie van de bondgenoten. Gaan ze in the Belgian ‘neppatéke’ bijten of niet?”
Francken voegt daar a toe dat er deze legislatuur “géén euro extra money for defensie bijkomt. Everything remains as a plan, a large pad for 1.54 percent of days 2030 and ‘the intention’ of 2 percent of days 2035. Is there any freight, are there extra F35’s, are there big investments in land power?”
‘Gijzelen’
The Vlaams concern is that the premier says “laat gijzelen door Ecolo-Groen met a reeks klimaatvoorwaarden”. “De broodnodige budgetverhoging voor Defensie wordt linked to sea investments in klimaatplannen en sea development project, terwijl the three zaken toch niet veel met elkaar te maken raise”, says Kamerlid Annick Ponthier.
The voegt eraan toe dat dit bigger budget geen blanco check like zijn: “With a bigger budget he has to come up with a basic plan, want to defend loopt helemaal square and then we hear couple-sized little of nothing over.”
