G2 take first win at Valorant Challengers – BIG winless

The Valorant professionals from G2 Esports won for the first time on the second Challengers matchday in the so-called EMEA region. The team celebrated a 2-0 win against SuperMassive Blaze. Teams from Europe and Turkey, among others, play in the EMEA region.

The match itself was close – at halftime in the first map split, G2 were still 4:8 behind, but ultimately won 13:9. There was a simple reason for G2’s Johan “Meddo” Renbjörk, as he explained in the tournament stream: “I think we played well, but we lost a lot of tight situations at first and couldn’t break the laps.”

With one win and one loss, G2 sit fourth in Group B of the Challengers tournament – level on points with world champions Acend. The team suffered a surprising 2-1 defeat in a duel with Guild Esports.

The second e-sports organization based in Berlin next to G2 also had no reason to celebrate: BIG also lost the second match at the Challengers tournament. In the end, it was 1: 2 from the point of view of the Valorant professionals in the duel of the 2nd matchday against LDN UTD. This leaves BIG bottom as the only team in Challengers Group A without a win.
