Carlos Rodriguez is stepping down as CEO at G2 Esports following a party video scandal. As he and the company announced via Twitter, the Berlin-based e-sports organization had received and accepted Rodriguez’s resignation request.
“We want to underline that we do not support any form of misogyny,” G2 said in a statement.

The G2 founder himself addressed his followers in a video on Twitter. Emotionally, he explained, “I can’t believe what I’m about to say. My time at G2 has come to an end. Which means I’m stepping down from my position as CEO. It’s a tough end to what would otherwise be a very meaningful one and enjoyable experience.”
Before retiring, Rodriguez had been on leave for eight weeks. He previously shared a party video with Andrew Tate. In it, Rodriguez himself was seen partying with Andrew Tate at a club in Bucharest.
Tate was banned from several social media platforms in August for spreading misogynistic messages. According to a report by the Guardian, he is being investigated for human trafficking and rape allegations. After the initial uproar on social media, Rodriguez reiterated via Twitter that he did not want his friendships to be controlled.
G2 Esports: Impact on Valorant team

G2 Esports is based in Berlin and is one of the most valuable and well-known esports organizations in the world. The company provides teams in League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant and Rocket League, among others. The organization was founded in its current form in 2015.
