The Berlin e-sports organization G2 Esports has again made it into the final of the League of Legends league LEC: With a hard-fought 3-1 win against Koi from Spain, the team secured the eleventh final of the European league.
“We had aggressive players and an aggressive game today,” said coach Dylan Falco in an interview after the game. “The first two games were quite good from us. We prepared a secret strategy for that, they didn’t see it coming.”
G2 had midlaner Rasmus “Caps” Winther play with Sejuani in game two – a champion normally played in the jungle. “We have a lot of creative minds in the team. And nobody has the ego to say: ‘I don’t play the tank.'” Top planner Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik said after the match. “And that’s dangerous for our opponents. If we can play anything, how do you draft against it?”
The tactics in game two more than worked: G2 defeated their opponents in just 23 minutes. Koi came back in game three and at least got the 1:2. In an exciting fourth game, however, G2 made it clear that they would make it into the final.
