G-Star and Burna Boy have joined forces.
The Dutch denim brand has designed a capsule with Nigerian musician Burna Boy, G-Star announced last week. It is intended to act as a link between music and art and is accompanied by a campaign that features a fashionable music video by the Afrobeat singer.
With denim as the star, the brand’s capsule includes a long military coat that can be worn with a reimagined version of the ‘Elwood’ jeans. A sleeveless hooded vest with coordinated jeans is completed by the leather boots ‘Benson Lea’. In the campaign video, Burna Boy’s dance crew also wears pieces from G-Star’s SS24 collection, which includes jeans and a range of gender-neutral T-shirts.
“Denim is not just a fabric, but an extension of my personality,” said Burna Boy. “Like my music, it is personal, a dialogue between me and myself. Every seam, every coloring tells a story. G-Star understands this.”
The ‘G-Star x Burna Boy’ collection is available on the brand’s online store. The ‘Elwood’ jeans are priced at 179.95 euros, the vest at 399.95 euros and the long coat at 799.95 euros.
