The Stade public prosecutor’s office has initiated proceedings against Fynn Kliemann: “We are examining the allegation of fraud after the initial suspicion has been confirmed,” said a spokesman when asked by the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. In the course of the investigation, however, further criminal offenses could be added. The influencer and the textile company “Global Tactics” were caught in the crossfire of criticism after Jan Böhmermann uncovered the 34-year-old’s crude mask business in “ZDF-Magazin Royale”.
Words that stay: “Crisis can also be cool”
The revelations suggested that the masks advertised by Kliemann as “produced in Portugal and Serbia” were actually made in Bangladesh. In addition, the entrepreneur is said to have donated damaged goods to refugees. This is suggested by a chat history of Kliemann and his business partner Tom Illbruck disclosed by Böhmermann. Kliemann was particularly attacked because of the cynical words given the Corona situation at the time: “Crisis can also be cool”. Meanwhile he asked his fans on Instagram for forgiveness and announced that he would clean up himself – but he denies some allegations.
The mocking jack of all trades
Fynn Kliemann became known to a large number of people as an amateur do-it-yourselfer on YouTube. He was always surrounded by the image of a restless child who, in the course of his rascally activities, saved the world a little. His followers also knew him as a musician. Three years ago, while promoting his debut album NIE, he said about artists from the old guard: “I find almost everything that used to be crap. The Beatles or the Rolling Stones aren’t for me either. I find Queen really annoying. Also Elvis or something: It was just a sausage too.”.
