Lighthouse Lange Jaap, the symbol of Den Helder and the surrounding area, has been the subject of discussion for years after it turned out that there are dangerous cracks in the cast -iron construction. Four years ago, Rijkswaterstaat dropped the area around the tower for fear that the tower Possibly would fall.
Minister takes a walk
In the meantime there are already many to research executed in and around the tower. For CDA MP Harmen Krul from Den Helder, the patience was up at the beginning of March this year. With a motion Minister Madlener, Krul managed to come before July 1 with answers or commitments about the preservation of the Lange Jaap lighthouse. Last Tuesday there was an answer: even more research, so even more delay.
Krul reacts furiously in a reaction Noordkop region: “The minister takes a walk with the House of Representatives. It is a slap in the face of the residents of Den Helder. Every minute I am active in the Chamber is a minute in which I commit myself to keep De Lange Jaap for our community. This minister can count on that.”
