Furniture and lighting in The Sundae House

Different types of wood

Eline van Sundae has a great passion for interior design and furnishing, but she had her choice of furniture for Het Sundae Huis in Kortrijk assisted by an interior architect from Charrell Home Interiors. Evelien advised Eline to dare to choose different types of wood. “Thanks to Evelien, I dared to opt for a dark wooden dining table, while the kitchen is made of lighter wood. But it really creates a successful dynamic.”

Organic shapes and rounded corners

The colors and tones in The Sundae House are very soft and natural. Light colors such as sand and beige have also been chosen in the living room. Eline van Sundae: “What I particularly like is the rounded corner of the seat, which is also reflected in the carpet. Everything fits together so beautifully. I am really super happy with it.”

Mood lighting

A lot of lighting has already been installed in Het Sundae Huis. Eline consulted Atmooz for a lighting plan. Functional lighting was installed with ceiling spotlights, but hanging, table and floor lamps provide a cozy atmosphere. “The spotlights are very practical and easy to direct. Downstairs I chose black, but in the teenage room, for example, they are in gold,” says Eline. Yannick Breckpot van Charrell and Atmooz opted for opal glass in the decorative lighting and that’s not by accident: “Thanks to the matte lighting, we retain that sixties vibe that the house already exudes anyway.”

Almost completely finished

Now that The Sundae House is furnished with the furniture and lighting, it is almost ready to be sold. The kitchen has already been installed. In the next episode, Eline tests it out, together with Jolien who designed the kitchen and Fleur, a viewer who really likes to cook and who wanted to come and discover the new kitchen.
