George Miller unveils the Mad Max prequel trailer and shares some exciting insights.
A spectacular first trailer for the highly anticipated prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road has been unveiled. At CCXP, Brazil’s largest Comic-Con event, director George Miller gave a glimpse of his new film. Titled “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” the film follows the young Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy. In addition to Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke can be seen in other leading roles.
George Miller, who also wrote the screenplay, returns to the post-apocalyptic wasteland with “Furiosa”. The trailer offers a glimpse of high-speed car stunts and monstrous vehicles as Hemsworth reveals details about the characters.
“Kill or be killed”
Chris Hemsworth describes his role as Dementos as a “very violent, crazy and brutal character” born and shaped in the harsh wasteland. He goes on to say about the role “Immortan Joe” that the character was born into a space that says: “Kill or be killed. He has learned to rule with an iron fist. He has a charisma and it’s a very manipulative charisma.”
Miller, who directed Fury Road, promises a compelling sequel with a tried-and-tested crew from the previous film. These include film editor Margaret Sixel, costume designer Jenny Beavan and composer Junkie XL.
“Furiosa” is scheduled to hit theaters on May 24, 2024 and will also be available in IMAX format. The film follows on from the Oscar-winning success of its predecessor and once again promises an epic journey through the post-apocalyptic universe of “Mad Max”.
