The project starts with the restoration of the burial chapel of the Jenart-Lagae family, an influential Heul family that played an important role in the industrial history of the region. After the works, the eclectic chapel from 1929 will be given a new purpose as an urn chapel with room for 24 urns.

“We want to restore this burial chapel as an example and give it a new purpose,” says Cemeteries Councilor Wout Maddens. “In this way we not only give the funerary heritage a second life, but also a contemporary interpretation.”
