Fundraising campaign for the Food Bank: ‘Eye for food, heart for people’

The food banks have recently seen an increase in the number of customers, but unfortunately the number of food donations is also decreasing. The reason for this is the rising costs in all areas. Mainly because of the ‘tensions in the world’ with major economic consequences.

Thanks to the efforts of dozens of volunteers and the generous donations of companies, small businesses, institutions and individuals, the food banks still manage to support people who need it with food. Nevertheless, the positions at the food bank and at the regional distribution center are becoming increasingly empty.

On Saturday 11 June, Diaconaal Verband De Wolden will hold a fundraising campaign at the supermarkets in Ruinen, Ruinerwold, Koekange, De Wijk and Zuidwolde. There is often a lack of non-perishable foodstuffs, such as soup, tea, dry sauces, but also packs of soft drinks. There are volunteers at supermarkets on this day to help buy the right items.
