Fully electric car is still a step too far for Queen Máxima | Car

The Royal family moved around in Fords for a long time, the most notable of which was a modified and lengthened Ford Scorpio. Subsequently, a series of Volvos was used for a short time, including a number of specially extended ones. The new Audi is a plug-in hybrid with a six-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor.

Until recently, King Willem-Alexander drove an extended Audi A8 L 4.2 TDI Quattro with a cool box, digital TV, massage seats, multimedia screens, privacy glass and a window that allows the rear passenger to close off from the driver if desired. The 4.2 liter eight-cylinder diesel engine was not really an example of environmentally conscious driving.

According to the court, the majority of the vehicle fleet now consists of hybrid or fully electric cars. The royal family wants to contribute to combating climate change with the new hybrid models. King Willem-Alexander called in his Christmas speech that we should do something about this together.
