Full West Flemish volleyball final
For the first time, the play-off final is a battle between two West Flemish teams. Roeselare had already been sure of his spot for a week. It looked good for Menen, but the border team still had to beat Roeselare on the final day of play to keep Maaseik behind in the standings.
High voltage in the Vauban. Menen started strong and won set one 25-21. But Roeselare made it clear in set two that it was also going for the win: it equalized 21-25: 1-1. Again Menen took the lead in set three (25-21) but again Roeselare fought back in the fourth set (20-25). The fifth and final set not only decided on the match win, but also on the composition of the play-off final. Menen pulled the longest end as the home team: 3-2.
Starting next weekend, Menen and Roeselare will compete for the national title. Whoever wins three games first is the champion. Menen and Roeselare are already certain of participating in the Champions League volleyball.
