Excise duties on fuels such as petrol and diesel will be reduced as of April, Minister Karien van Gennip (Social Affairs) reported Friday after the Council of Ministers. The reduction in the VAT rate will take effect from July. Compensation for the lowest incomes will also be increased. In total, the cabinet is allocating 2.8 billion euros for the purchasing power recovery package.
