That is bitter. The handball foxes make a fool of themselves at the bottom of the table, lose 27:32 (15:11) in Minden and to all the bankruptcy drama, right winger Valter Chrintz (21) seriously injures his right knee.

Sports director Stefan Kretzschmar (49) makes it clear: “Such a misjudgment festival and blatant mistakes must not happen to us. We threw away the victory. I have always warned against giving only 90 percent instead of 100 and not taking every Bundesliga club seriously.”

The game is strange. First right winger Hans Lindberg (41) flies off the floor with red (23rd minute). Unjustified, because Minden’s Mohamed Darmoul runs into Lindberg’s arm himself. It is the first red card in Lindberg’s 16-year Bundesliga career.

Then the Lindberg substitute Valter Chrintz injured his right knee when landing after a throw (40th). It doesn’t look good, Chrintz has to be taken out of the hall on a stretcher and can no longer straighten his right knee.

The ten-minute break in the game breaks the foxes’ neck. After a 19:14 lead (39th), suddenly nothing works anymore.

Coach Jaron Siewert (28): “The red card hurts us, Valter’s absence hurts us, but we mustn’t lose our heads like that.”
