Swiss international Silvan Widmer will captain Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05 next season.
This was announced by coach Bo Svensson before the first competitive game in the DFB Cup at Erzgebirge Aue on Sunday (6 p.m. / Sky).
“He’s only been at the club for a year, but he’s experienced a lot,” the coach explained his choice: “He’s a real man who always performs and puts his head outside the field to master this task.”
