Two cars crashed head-on this afternoon on the New Amsterdamseweg (N853) near Schoonebeek. Both vehicles were considerably damaged and the road was completely closed.
The emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, arrived urgently. After the collision, one of the two vehicles came to a halt in a front garden. The driver of this car had to be released from the vehicle by the fire brigade and is treated in the ambulance.
The collision would have been caused by a catch -up maneuver, but the police are investigating the precisely cause of the accident.
