Steven Tyler has to stop Aerosmith’s Farewell tour. The 75-year-old singer has injured his vocal cords and they are bleeding.
The band tells about it on X (formerly Twitter). Tyler has been banned from singing for 30 days.
– My heart is broken that I am not allowed to sing for the next 30 days due to the doctor’s order. I suffered a vocal cord injury on Saturday at the gig, which eventually led to bleeding, Tyler writes in the publication.
Tyler and his band have to postpone a few upcoming gig dates. The gigs are in America and Canada. The tickets are valid for the new gig dates as they are.
75-year-old Tyler has had health concerns related to substances in the past. In the summer of 2022, Tyler took a trip to drugs after more than ten years sober. He said that he resorted to intoxicants during the sick leave following the leg surgery when he tried to relieve his pain.
Tyler eventually went into voluntary rehab. According to newspaper claims, he spent more than a month in rehab.
The musician has stated that the use of substances was very common among musicians and bands, especially in the 1980s.
– I don’t think there was any band back then that even knew the meaning of the word “sober”, Tyler thought to GQ magazine in 2019.
