From smoke detector installer to stage death

By Hartmut Kascha

Can every man (and every woman) play in “Jedermann”?

“Of course,” says Nicolai Tegeler (44). This year he is producing and directing the play by Hugo von Hofmannsthal on the open-air stage of the State Horticultural Show in Beelitz (September 8-16). He now formed a very illustrious ensemble for this. As? He explains that in the BZ

Markus Majowski (58, “I’m a star – get me out of here”) plays death.

Tegeler explains: “I convinced him at my favorite Indian restaurant “Amrit” on Nollendorfplatz. He had installed smoke detectors in apartments during Corona. After I bought him a lentil soup, he said yes.”

Tine Wittler (49, “use in four walls”) plays the thick base.

“I knew her from a shoot. When I called her, she asked if she could get reimbursed for the travel expenses from the Weserland. Once that was clear, she gave her the okay.”

Michaela Schaffrath (51, aka Gina Wild), plays the works.

“When I suggested that she not act as a love interest, she was on fire.”

Eva Habermann (46, “Traumschiff”) plays mammon.

“During a conversation she said to me: If I get a lead role, I’ll do it. Your wish was my command.”

Alexandra Kamp (55, “Horst Schlämmer – I am a candidate”) plays faith.

“I didn’t hear from her for three weeks after my offer. Done, I thought. Then the turning point: ‘It was clear that I would be there,’ she said.

Jaecki Schwarz (76, “Police call 110”) gives God the voice.

“He’s only participating because he doesn’t have to be on stage. But his voice should definitely be heard.”

Wolfgang Bahro (61, GZSZ) plays the devil.

“During other ‘Jedermann’ performances, he was never allowed to be the devil. I gave him the chance. He was enthusiastic, so he moved extra filming for GZSZ.”

Julian Weigend (50, “In all friendship”) plays everyone.

“I knew him from ‘Tatort’ as Götz George’s partner. So a well-known man. It was natural for him to say yes when I asked him.”

Jenny Löffler (32, “Storm of Love”) plays the paramour.

“I met her four years ago in the dubbing studio in Babelsberg. Since then I have observed her career and noticed that she acts a lot in the theater. She accepted me straight away.”

Does “Jedermann” only go with stars?

In the end, the question remains: can “everyone” survive with only well-known names? Nicolai Tegeler: “No. Either you hate or you love the piece. The content is timeless. We come with nothing. We go with nothing. If we internalize that, we will no longer need wars, among other things.”
