From Monday new phase works trumpet connection (R8-A19)

The earthworks for the reconstruction of the A19 and R8 complex in Kortrijk are in full swing. On Monday, September 26, the contractor started the earthworks, whereby 126,000 cubic meters of soil had already been excavated near the new trumpet connection. During these works, traffic will for the time being travel via the outer ring road, with one lane in each direction of travel.

Detour via inner ring
From Monday 17 October, the construction zone will shift to the outer ring, which means that local traffic will have to drive on the R8 on the inner ring for a number of months. The Gullegem ramp to the R8 South (outer ring road) will also be closed. That is the driveway at the Waterven. This traffic situation will continue until the summer of 2023. This schedule depends on the weather conditions and can therefore change. (Read more below the image)

Detour through traffic
The current detour for through traffic will remain in effect. Traffic driving from Ypres to Kortrijk-North via the E403 and E17 and traffic driving from Kortrijk-South to Ypres will follow a diversion via the E403 and E17: the connection of the inner ring road R8 with the A19 is closed.
