H.year collected food and blankets for Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Rented two vans. And they left towards the Medyka collection center, on the border with western Ukraine.
Emilio Tirelli, director of the Ecolife training school, Barbara Pinnetti massage therapist, Marco Ferrari and Stefano Santoro, teachers of Ecolife, have not thought twice about it. Surprised by the positive outcome of the Milanese collection in the Isola District,TRE EFFE Association of Opera, by the patients and friends of the E MI (Ecolife – European Medical Institute), they recovered another van at the last minute to guarantee the transport of what was brought both to the Ecolife headquarters and to the collection point on the Pepe Verde Island.
All the Ecolife for Ukrainian refugees
The Ecolife students took care of loading the boxes into the two vans. Departure on 8 March, 1 pm, a journey documented by messages and videos posted on social networks. Wednesday 9 March: “Two hours from the border with Ukraine. Long journey but full of solidarity encounters with other volunteers traveling towards the border ”.
Wednesday 9 March, the arrival at the Medyka collection center
10 am, arrival of the four Ecolife teachers. It’s snowing, it’s cold in Poland on the border with Ukraine. Aid arriving from Milan (and from all over Italy) is perhaps just “a drop of water for the immense thirst” of the humanitarian crisis created by the war in Ukraine. But, thanks to the Ecolife teachers who set out on the road, Easter eggs, multicolored hair bands for girls, boxes of energy barstogether with boxes of basic necessities, will give a momentary relief to those who have escaped from their home and their life without being able to take anything with them.
