Lady Gaga is currently on a world tour. A strange thing happened while she was performing the Top Gun: Maverick song “Hold My Hand” during a performance in Toronto. A plush toy was thrown at her. Now it turned out that this is a Mexican tradition. Even if the character was only supposed to end up on stage and not meet Lady Gaga.
Have you heard from Dr. Heard Simi? Probably not. According to several American media, this is a mascot for a Mexican pharmacy chain. So far, so uninteresting. But: In the meantime, more and more fans from Mexico would throw Dr.Simi plush figures on stage during concerts. This is exactly what should have happened to Lady Gaga.
how do some fans think this is okay… this is so dangerous and sad. ? pic.twitter.com/CnmOP88yOF

The beginning
The tradition is said to have started in 2021, the Huffington Post reported. The “crime scene” was a concert by the Norwegian singer Aurora. A fan threw the character onto the stage, the 26-year-old noticed and hugged her in front of the audience. Since then, Dr. Simi also countered Coldplay, The Killers and 5 Seconds Of Summer.
It’s a recent Mexican tradition to throw a Dr Simi plushie at the stage as a gift, I’m pretty sure they weren’t aiming at her face ? sorry Gaga, they were trying to show some love pic.twitter.com/wqWIbjV7CK

The apology
The alleged “culprit” was quickly identified after the Lady Gaga concert. “Because I was nervous I didn’t record it (on camera) throwing the character haha sorry,” he wrote on Twitter. When another user asked if it wasn’t dangerous to throw at artists, he replied that he didn’t want to meet Lady Gaga. “I misjudged the distance.”
