From meeting Sinterklaas to Black Friday: this is the Zoetermeer weekend agenda (24 – 26 November)

Black Friday

Many stores have been promoting Black Friday for weeks, but Friday, November 24 is the real time. Shop with high discounts at your favorite stores. From furniture to clothing and from jewelry to nutritional supplements: almost all businesses participate.

Karaoke Night

You don’t have to be able to sing well for Karaoke Night at Spetters in Zoetermeer. On Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25, you can show off your singing skills (or howling) between 9:00 PM and 12:00 AM. It’s very simple: gather some friends, choose a song you like to sing and get on stage. Entrance is free!

LGBTI+ pub quiz

In the Rainbow Café Zoetermeer everyone can be themselves. It is a meeting place where activities are organized for and by the LGBTI+ community. On Sunday, November 26, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, there will be a pub quiz in restaurant 1892 Food and Drink. During the free quiz you can have drinks, there is music and of course there are challenging questions.

Open DJ evening

Do you spend evenings behind your mixing desk hoping for a real performance? Then put your music on a USB stick and go to Mrs. Latenstond in Zoetermeer on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26. Between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM you can showcase your talent, network and be inspired by other DJs.

Sinterklaasvaart

The good saint made his appearance in Zoetermeer on Saturday, November 18. There are various Sinterklaas activities in the city especially for children, including the Sinterklaas Cruise 2023. On Saturday, November 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saint Nicholas and his helpers will visit Boerderij ‘t Geertje. From chimney sliding to roof walking and from an obstacle course to sailing on the steamboat: after this weekend the children are really ready for Christmas Eve.

Crazy Little Things

Attention Queen fans! On Saturday, November 25, you can listen to the rock band Crazy Little Things at Poppodium Boerderij between 7:30 PM and 10:30 PM. The musicians take you on a journey through the era in which Queen developed into one of the best rock bands of all time. Killer Queen, Somebody To Love and Bohemian Rhapsody: they all pass by this evening.

Tickets can be ordered in advance for 27.50 euros or buy a ticket at the box office for 28 euros.

Zoetermeer beer walk

Visit various catering establishments in the Dorpsstraat during the Zoetermeer beer walk on Saturday, November 25. You can taste beer from seven breweries at several locations. You get a matching snack with every specialty beer. You won’t lose weight from this walk, but it will make your taste buds very happy.

The walk lasts from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM tickets costs 45 euros per person.

Sinterklaas visits shopping centers

On Saturday, November 19, Sinterklaas and his Piets arrived in Zoetermeer. He visited the Stadshart and the Zoetermeerse Dorpsstraat. He will also visit other Zoetermeer shopping centers this weekend. Below is an overview of the dates and times.

Own We opens studio

On Saturday, November 25, the Eigen Wij foundation will open the new Eigen Wij Atelier. At 11 a.m., councilor Ingeborg Ter Laak will be ready with a big dollop of paint. In addition, visitors can follow a free workshop that focuses on connecting. There will be drinks at Voorweg 112 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. The works of art ‘from the attic’ are exhibited and offered for sale.

Winter fair Oosterkerk

Get into the winter spirit during the Winter Fair in Oosterkerk. From 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. you can attend a Christmas decoration workshop, have high tea, win a nativity scene during a raffle and browse the stalls. There is a cupcake decorating workshop for children and, as icing on the cake, the event is decorated with fun music.

The workshop for adults is 25 euros, for children 5 euros and the high tea costs 15 euros. You make a reservation here.

Honey tasting

Do you like eating honey and would you like to learn how to use it in recipes? Then do a tasting at Imkerij De Honingpot on Saturday, November 25 from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. You will learn more about the health benefits of the product, the bee and of course you will taste a lot. This includes cake, pie, an alcoholic drink and honey syrups.
