AZ Under 19 player Kees Smit will be in the final of the prestigious Youth League with his teammates tonight. Naturally, his family traveled from Heiloo to Geneva, Switzerland, to see Kees shine in the final battle against Hajduk Split. “Tonight we’ll pop them, then we’ll eat them up and then we’ll just win.”
The Smit family traveled to Switzerland by car to hopefully see Kees with the trophy in his hands later this evening. “We often go to look, but this is of course completely unique,” says grandma Smit.
World goal
Kees’ girlfriend hopes that the midfielder will find the net again, just like in the quarterfinals against FC Barcelona. “He said that he is looking forward to it and that he does not feel any pressure. He has promised that he would score another goal for us.”

Since the establishment of the baby champions league in the 2013/2014 season never before had a Dutch team reached the final. AZ did this by convincingly eliminating top teams such as Barcelona and Real Madrid.
