It’s actually quite a boring building on the inside, says Hoogeveen. The building consisted of many changing rooms, offices and rooms where training and instructions were given. But there are a few sections that say the police were here until 2021. “Just smell this,” he says, as he swings open a door. A smoke of alcohol escapes from the room. The breath analyzes used to be held there. “The air is still there.”
“Yes, and this is of course the highlight of the police station,” says Hoogeveen as he stands in a narrow corridor with three rooms on both sides and a slightly larger room at the end. It’s the hallway where the cells are. Four cells, two interrogation rooms and the larger room at the end is an observation room.
