From a life of professional success to the desire to help others find their purpose in life and at work

Why would someone leave behind 15 years of success in multinational companies in Europe to help other strangers achieve their goals and consolidate their achievements?

Pedro Vodquevich is a Professional Executive and Life Coach, who currently resides in Madrid, Spain, although he maintains close ties with our country, since he lived in Buenos Aires as a young man. With a 15-year career in Marketing and Communication at leading European companies such as L’Oreal, Zalando, Uber and Just Eat Takeaway.com, Pedro has accumulated vast experience in the corporate world. With a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Warsaw and Université Paris Dauphine IX, as well as a postgraduate degree in “Job Coaching – Modern Professional Advice and Career Coaching” from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (SWPS), Pedro He has decided to put all this at the service of those who hire him to help them in their professional and personal journey.

Despite his success in the business world, Pedro decided to leave everything behind to focus on his passion for coaching and helping others reach their full potential. “In my portfolio I have a postgraduate degree in “Patient Experience” from ESADE, in Madrid, and I am currently studying to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Palermo. In my 37 years I have lived in nine countries on four continents, which is why I have managed to speak eight languages fluently: Spanish, English, Polish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Russian and Ukrainian”, says Pedro, who is a true global citizen. .

– What led you to make such a drastic professional change?

In 2020, during the pandemic, I decided to change my life and went back to study coaching at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, Poland. I felt I could bring my friends, colleagues, and future clients something more that doesn’t exist in the executive coach market, which is unfortunately starting to get a bad rap because of a one-day certificate boom or self-proclaimed coaches. I invested money and time, as well as hours of internships, to be able to help people find themselves.

– Why did you decide to focus on executive coaching?

Over the course of my career in multiple countries and for the world’s largest companies, I observed an evolution of employee malaise and a growing lack of communication between employees and their employers. The pandemic strengthened this discrepancy that already existed at the local level, but also at the intercultural level.

– What do you wish you could bring to your customers?

I would like to be able to contribute, not only what I have learned during my studies, but also my knowledge of big business, my experience of participating in the evolution of startup companies to multinationals, my empathy, my intercultural experience and knowledge of languages and the linguistic nuances that They can cause communication problems, not only among our compatriots, but also with people from other Latin American countries or also when speaking another language in other cultures.

– How do you put all your knowledge into action in the session?

I get involved in the development of each person. I want to listen to her, activate her active listening, put everything in context, prepare each client so that they do not judge anyone, but empathize with their interlocutor. In our sessions we do SWOT analysis, or SWOT in Spanish, during which we look at the strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats to facilitate decision making. As a coach I want to empower my client to make decisions, according to his values, without any prejudice or influence from his environment. A human being has to stop saying: “I have to”; “I must” “should” “it is necessary” to say “I would like to”, “I would like to”, “I would like to”. In the world of the coach it is not about looking for the “why”, but the “for what”. In this way, we assume the responsibility of creating a better environment for ourselves. I also try to elaborate the lexicon of each person so that he can express her opinion, her request in a healthy way and according to her values. I use Marshall Rosenberg techniques of “Nonviolent Communication” in order to maximize the potential of a person becoming the best employee or leader in their company.

– What is your goal for the future?

My short and long-term goal is to provide high-quality services individually, and also to companies, in which I try to understand individual and company or sector demands, in order to offer the best tailor-made workshops in the Argentina, Latin America and Spain. I would also like to build a broader communication bridge of intercultural understanding between Argentina and Europe and with the United States. It is important to know that in the European Union there are many countries, and each of them is different, but in Latin America we also have a great diversity of cultures that are rarely exposed in the eyes of Europeans. So I would like to be able to turn intercultural beauty into business, the daily life of Argentines who want to improve or change their lifestyle, career or increase their business in Europe or the United States and also help good Europeans to understand cultural differences. in the Spanish-speaking world.
