Frits Wester has ruined it with Angela de Jong: ‘So disappointed’

Frits Wester has lost the sympathy of Angela de Jong due to his participation in Expedition Robinson. “I always thought quite highly of him, but I have now really turned off on him.”

It makes a difference that as a political reporter he doesn’t have much to do with her, but for many TV stars it is a disaster: losing the sympathy of Angela de Jong. Her pen is so influential that careers are made or broken while her column is still on the printing press. Her latest victim? Paul de Leeuw.

Rejected at Frits

And Frits Wester is now also being criticized, namely when it is in the AD Media podcast about Expedition Robinson. Angela was asked to do this in 2018. “I wasn’t very enthusiastic about it, so I didn’t really fit into the picture. It wasn’t that I really wanted to belong to that sect of ‘I also participated’.”

Frits apparently wanted that: he is a candidate in the current series. “I always had Frits Wester in high regard, but I really turned away from that. I happened to be watching last Sunday.”

Scheming

Angela thinks that Frits is not behaving nicely in the program. “I always try to watch at least one episode, but the man who says he hates backroom deals and scheming is pretty much a dealer in that.”

Frits is particularly critical of the younger candidates in the program. “When he has a hard time because he has to try to win an argument with the younger generation whom he blames for everything, he hesitates a bit when he tells them that he doesn’t mean it that way. And then afterwards in a diary session like that… Yes, grow up.”

Blugh

It is a backstabber, thinks Angela. “Then I think: well, be so tough that you just say that to their faces, Frits. I really thought: blugh. So no, I don’t think it’s very good for his image.”

Does she have anything to grumble about about another Robinson candidate? “I also wanted to say something about Irene van der Laar, but I’m not going to do that.”

Finally, we should never expect Angela in the program, she emphasizes. “I would rather do Wie is de Mol.”
