Frits Wester does not understand that there are people who participate in the TV program B&B Vol Liefde. Very bizarre, says the political reporter, who himself took part in Expedition Robinson.
It’s incredible what people will do for a little these days exposure on television, says Frits Wester. For example, the RTL News journalist, who recently participated in De Verraders and Expedition Robinson, does not understand the candidates in the dating show B&B Vol Liefde. “I didn’t like that at first,” he says in the VARA guide.
‘Why?!’
Only later did Frits come to appreciate that program. “Then I started watching with you and I started to find it funny,” he says to his girlfriend Jeannine. “All those characters, all those opinions, the form, I kept thinking: why would you participate in that?”
Then Jeannine intervenes: “That’s what people must have thought about you at Expeditie Robinson.”
Frits: “That is absolutely true.”
Very daring
Does Jeannine also think that Frits has made a bit of a fool of himself? “I thought your participation in Expedition Robinson was cool and quite daring.”
Frits looks back on it with mixed feelings. “I was the old fart of 61 among all those young people in their mid-twenties. That also led to a conflict when I talked about the TikTok generation.”
Psychologist
And how did he find The Traitors? “That was really a huge pressure cooker. I kept saying, “It’s just a game,” but I’ve seen people go out and have to walk with a psychologist for three hours before they could drive home. That made me laugh a bit. I mean, it’s a game and in a game sometimes someone loses out.”
He continues: “In chess, the pieces also fall off the board. And then those lyrics: ‘I trust you, yes I trust you too. Haha, I then think: but what is this game called again?”
