Frits Huffnagel reacts quite sour when he is confronted with a false joke about his party leader Mark Rutte during the Shownieuws broadcast. “Vote first, then participate!”
VVD prominent Frits Huffnagel is now one of the permanent experts in Shownieuws. At the desk, he regularly speaks highly of his party leader Mark Rutte, while his colleagues are extremely critical of the prime minister. For example, last year he was called ‘Prime Minister Pinocchio’ in the program on SBS 6.
‘That appeals to him?’
Frits told the desk yesterday about Angela Merkel’s farewell visit to Rutte. “I think they still keep in touch.”
According to Frits, you can clearly see that Merkel and Rutte have a good relationship with each other. “When we asked Rutte: ‘How is that relationship with Merkel?’, he said: ‘There is total trust. We have a deep friendship. She is one hundred percent reliable.’”
Then colleague Evert Sankrediets makes a false joke: “And that appeals to him?!”
Frits looks sour
Frits finds the suggestion that Rutte is unreliable anything but funny. He therefore looks quite sour, while colleagues Ronald Molendijk and William Rutten are really upset about Evert’s joke.
Frits: “That certainly appeals to him. Rightly so.”
Ronald laughing: “So in conclusion he said: ‘And I don’t recognize anything in that! This is completely new to me!’”
Frits: “If you’re going to vote next time, you can also participate in the discussion about politics! Vote first!”
