Dirk Zeelenberg is under fire for a bizarre TikTok video (see below) at one of his weddings. It shows how, just before he has to perform a wedding, he complains about the circumstances in which he has to wait for the ceremony. Too hot and run-down, is his complaint.
Strong criticism
The video earned Dirk fierce criticism. For example, someone says: “Haha deleted my previous response? After this video you are still an overpaid, disrespectful, arrogant guy towards the bridal couple! I would never hire you after such an arrogant and belittling shot. What an actor you are in every way…”
And another: “I don’t think it’s nice that you rip off someone’s wedding location. You may see this as humor, but it mainly comes across as disrespectful and nasty to the people who paid you thousands of euros to marry them.”
“He’s slipped!”
Evert Santegoeds also finds it very strange, he says Show news. “Well, Dirk, are you okay, you wonder.”
Colleague Tooske Ragas: “People on the internet also wondered that.”
Frits Huffnagel is done with this man: “It is of course meant to be funny, but isn’t it very embarrassing? You hire that man and then with all the complaints that have already been made! He has slipped a bit.”
Backtrack
Evert thinks Dirk doesn’t even notice. “Many of his followers on the internet reacted wildly to it, saying: you can’t do that! Then he starts to back down and say that it was a joke of course, but there are also many people who say that their comment has been removed and Dirk is known for that.”
He continues: “We had another story about him in the spring about the divorce which he himself does not seem to handle very neatly and then he also says: ‘Yes, I do indeed remove comments from Instagram. Everyone does that.’”
Satisfied?
Dirk also has the people who got married pulled in front of the camera to let them say how good he is as a wedding officiant. “He says himself that the people he married were very satisfied with it. I would really like to hear that from those people or from the eyewitnesses. I don’t know,” Evert said.
He continues: “It’s possible, but I hear a lot of complaints about Dirk Zeelenberg’s performances as a wedding officiant these days.”
15 thousand euros
Evert points out that Dirk also does funerals these days. “He asks 15 thousand euros for that to guide someone to his final resting place.”
Frits: “He says he gets a lot of requests, but with all those complaints, I don’t think things are going well for this boy.”
Evert: “I don’t think so either. He doesn’t have a very good reputation in this world right now.”
