Erzgebirge Aue and Hallesche FC fought a rapid exchange of blows with open visors until the end, in which both Keller opponents scored a point because an Auer hit the back early and the front late.
At the last minute, FC Erzgebirge Aue saved a 1-1 (0-1) home draw against Halleschen FC. In front of 10,214 spectators – including a good 1,300 away fans – the two Central German opponents fought a highly intense, heated and rousing third division basement duel, in which Sam Schreck was the main focus. Auer slapsticked into his own goal early on (3′) before scoring the deserved equalizer for the hosts shortly before the end of regulation time (89′).
Fright surprised Männel and made HFC cheer
While Aues interim coach Carsten Müller identical starting eleven of the victory in Oldenburg familiar, surprised HFC coach André Meyer Aljaz Casar in midfield center in front of the triple chain. His club reported just a few days ago that the six was suffering from a torn muscle fiber in his thigh, which has now turned out to be an “older and already healed injury”.
The next good news from Halle’s point of view came in the 3rd minute, when Schreck overlooked the fact that keeper Martin Männel offered to play a back pass next to the box – instead, Auer put the ball precisely into the far corner to guide the visitors. The violets reacted promptly, but HFC keeper Felix Gebhardt fished Dimitrij Nazarov’s drop kick out of the left corner (9′).
HFC keeper Gebhardt with strong parades
While the well-organized team from Halle repeatedly countered briskly, the Müller team – in which Marvin Stefaniak in particular pulled on the chains – became more decisive in the game from minute to minute. However, Gebhardt continued to trump. First, the U20 national goalkeeper defused Stefaniak’s attempt in the near corner, then he somehow managed to raise his arm against Tom Baumgart’s completely free shot from seven meters (22’/33′).
Zimmerschied misses the preliminary decision
After the restart, the pace remained high, but the pitching also increased. Fouls on both sides repeatedly interrupted the flow of the game, caused discussions and ultimately required seven yellow cards from the circumspect referee Patrick Hanslbauer. From a purely sporting point of view, FCE again pushed for an equalizer from the middle of the second half, but Schreck initially only hit the side netting from close range after Tim Danhof’s back pass (63′).
The HFC was then very close twice to a possible preliminary decision within barely 60 seconds – but first Aue defender Steffen Nkansah threw himself decisively in Tom Zimmerschied’s volley, before Zimmerschied sailed past Tunay Deniz’ header extension by centimeters after the following corner at the far post (72. /73.).
Fright has the eye, Hug saves against Besong
Only in the last few meters of the game did the hosts reward themselves for their running. Schreck – who was unlucky in the first half – processed Stefaniak’s high cross and had the composure for a technically flawless finish with the inside instep into the far corner (89′). Shortly thereafter, joker Paul-Philipp Besong would have turned the scenery completely upside down, but Nico Hug saved the already beaten Gebhardt in front of the line (90+1).
