Employees of dairy manufacturer FrieslandCampina in Meppel will stop work before midnight on Tuesday. It is one of three locations where there will be a strike next week.
Earlier this week there were also strikes in Marum and Noordwijk. CNV and FNV are now continuing their actions to enforce a better wage offer. According to the trade unions, dairy employers do not want to go beyond 8 percent in wages.
The new series starts on Saturday evening with a 24-hour strike in Steenderen in the Achterhoek, followed on Monday by Borculo and Tuesday by Meppel. “Other dairy companies will soon have their turn if employers do not quickly offer a better collective labor agreement,” says negotiator Henk Jongsma of CNV Vakmensen.
