Friends of Viljami Nieminen, who scored the opening goal of his league career, were in the stands, father was not – “Would it have been in Keuruu”

Viljami Nieminen rushed to score like his father in his later years.

– It was quite handsome.

Viljami Nieminen it’s really good to remember the first goal of his career in the SM league and in the Tappara league team. A wonderful goal in a heated local game crowned Tappara’s victory.

Nieminen’s goal in the final set had a strong resemblance to Ville’s father, especially in terms of determination. Viljami admitted this himself.

– Yes, there was something like that when the puck went through the puck – nothing more than to score a goal and retrieve the puck.

On the other hand, the vents remained quite moderate, even if there was reason to celebrate more boisterously – like Ville once did.

– Maybe there could have been a little more celebration, but now we keep a low profile, Nieminen laughed.

Ville however, was not there to witness Viljam’s memorable moment, even though JYP, which he coached, had a day off today.

– It seemed to say something, that he had been to Keuruu to watch KeuPa’s game, Nieminen revealed.

The match was also memorable for Niemi in the sense that it was the first local game of his career in the SM league.

– There was no vibration tension, but of course you knew that everyone you know was watching.

Tappara won the match 5–3.
