Tahmina Akefi, who revealed herself more than a month ago as the girlfriend of the late Peter R. de Vries, does not have to apply for Omroep MAX. “I have no vacancies,” says broadcaster Jan Slagter.
It has yielded mixed reactions: the much-watched love documentary in which Tahmina Akefi revealed herself as the girlfriend of the late Peter R. de Vries. She turns out to be a presenter at RTV Rijnmond, but the big question is: is a switch to national television in the pipeline now that she has presented herself so grandly to the Netherlands?
No job vacancies
Omroep MAX boss Jan Slagter often invests in new talent, but is now looking further. “I don’t know if she is something for Omroep MAX, I have seen too little for that. But I don’t have any vacancies. At the moment we have enough presenters and presenters. The regional broadcaster often has very good presenters,” he says in Weekend.
One of the talents made great by Jan is Carrie ten Napel. Can’t it be the same with Tahmina? “Carrie had already earned her spurs, already made a lot of meters. Only then can you conclude whether or not someone is suitable or can continue to grow. That is not yet the case in Tahmina’s case.”
too private
What does Jan think of the love documentary about Tahmina’s relationship with Peter? “I thought she was brave in that program. At the same time, the question came to me: isn’t this too private? Anyway, she thought she had to do it that way and that is her right.”
“I wouldn’t have done it that way myself. I think that everyone’s private life is private, you don’t have to show it off. She chose that.”
