A man was arrested on Tuesday after he broke into a home in Kruisstraat while residents were at home. He is suspected of committing several burglaries. The Eindhoven resident denies the allegations and makes remarkable statements.
Residents on Kruisstraat in Woensel were startled by a burglar on Tuesday. The perpetrator had climbed into the house via a firebreak and the flat roof while they were at home.
The police came to the house and found out how the burglar might have acted. “After some climbing, asking around and looking around, we arrived at the location where the suspect must have climbed up,” the police officer reported on Instagram on Friday. There appears to be a camera hanging there.
When the camera images are played back, officers recognize the possible perpetrator. “Let that just be someone we have long suspected of burglaries in the neighborhood, but where we always miss that last bit of evidence,” the agent writes on Instagram.
On their way to his home, the officers encounter the suspected perpetrator. According to the officer, he had just come from ‘a heroin dispensation’. “The man continues to maintain to the police that thanks to the provision of heroin he does not have to do anything criminal to get his money.”
The police found several goods at the suspect’s residence: a few bicycles without a lock, an electric scooter, tablets and laptops. The electric scooter turned out to have been taken elsewhere in the city.
The Eindhoven resident has been detained and is being brought before the examining magistrate. A number of home burglaries are still being investigated that may be linked to the arrested suspect.
