Frenkie de Jong contributed to a large practice win for FC Barcelona with a goal on Sunday. The Orange international made the last goal in the 6-0 win against the Mexican Pumas UNAM in the battle for the Trofeu Joan Gamper.
The 25-year-old De Jong scored for Barcelona six minutes before the end in a packed Camp Nou. The midfielder captured the ball himself, ran into the box and hit the right corner.
For De Jong, who has recently been linked with a transfer to Manchester United, it was his first goal for Barcelona since February 24. Then he scored in the eighth finals of the Champions League against Napoli.
De Jong came into the field at Barcelona after the break. Memphis Depay took the place of Robert Lewandowski after an hour of play. The Polish striker, who came over from Bayern Munich this summer, had already opened the score after three minutes and scored his first goal for Barcelona. He rounded the goalkeeper and hit from a difficult angle.
Within twenty minutes the Catalans ran out to 4-0. Pedri was accurate twice, once after a nice heel by Lewandowski. In between, Ousmane Dembélé made the 3-0 with a hard shot. Shortly after the break, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang further expanded the margin with a scorer.

Barcelona starts new season on Saturday
The Trofeu Joan Gamper is an annual practice tournament organized by FC Barcelona since 1966 and decided over one match since 1997. The trophy is named after Joan Gamper, who founded the Catalan top club in 1899.
Barcelona will start the new season in La Liga next week. Coach Xavi’s team will then play against Rayo Vallecano in Camp Nou.
