A 23-year-old Frenchman was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of money laundering and drink-driving at the Hazeldonk border crossing.
Police conducted a traffic check at the border crossing on Friday morning. The Frenchman was driving a French vehicle and was pulled over by the police. The driver looked dazed, according to police. A saliva test was taken from the man. It turned out that he was under the influence of narcotics. The vehicle was then searched. Officers found more than $53,000 in the vehicle. The police suspect the Frenchman of money laundering.
The man was also put aside by the police at Hazeldonk in April. He was also driving under the influence. The police will conduct a more extensive investigation.
