A month ago, Simon Desthieux celebrated winning a silver medal at the Olympic Games. Now the Frenchman is making it clear that he is retiring. He has not yet given any concrete plans.
That’s it for Simon Desthieux. The 30-year-old biathlete is retiring. The mixed relay Olympic champion from 2018 announced this on Twitter on Tuesday.
“After ten years I want to do something different,” said the 30-year-old. Desthieux became world champion in the relay in 2020 and won silver at the Winter Olympics in Beijing that year.
In the overall World Cup he is seventh, behind Quentin Fillon Maillet (first place) and Emilien Jacquelin (second place) the third best Frenchman. The best-placed German is Benedikt Doll in eighth place.
