The tennis world number one Iga Swiatek from Poland reached the quarter-finals at the French Open in a hurry due to the injury-related resignation of her opponent.
Ukraine’s Lessia Tsurenko was unable to continue after 31 minutes with Swiatek 5-1, apparently having breathing problems.
Defending champion Swiatek remains completely dominant without losing a set in the tournament so far now meets American Coco Gauff. The two had already faced each other in the final of the previous year – at that time Swiatek won straight in two rounds.
Gauff defeated Anna Schmiedlova from Slovakia in her round of 16 with 7:5, 6:2.
