French Montana: Shooting at music video shoot – so far 10 victims are suspected

Thursday night, January 5, 2023, there is said to have been a shooting while filming a music video by rapper French Montana, according to American media reports. Ten victims are currently being spoken of, but the police are asking for patience during the ongoing investigation and have not yet confirmed the number. The video shoot and incident happened in front of The Licking restaurant in Miami Gardens in Florida, USA.

French Montana is not among the injured so far. However, it should have hit his rap colleague Rob49.

Shots shot during rap music video shoot

The shots broke out around 8 p.m. in the Soul Food store’s parking lot, WSVN reported, citing police. Witnesses told American news outlets that French Montana was filming a rap video when chaos broke out.

A video shared on social media showed several victims lying on the bloodied sidewalk while first responders and bystanders tried to help.

Rob49 among the injured

Among the injured was New Orleans rapper Rob49 aka Baby Soulja Slim. He is reportedly in stable condition. French Montana is said to have shot the music video with him. Rob49 is known for his song “Vulture Island V2”, 2022, among other things.

On Instagram, fans and followers of the two are currently commenting on the respective first feed posts and asking for the current status of things.

French Montana is a Moroccan-American rapper best known for his songs “Unforgettable” and “All The Way Up.”
