French ambassador to London, Catherine Colonna, will be the new French foreign minister, according to news channel BFMTV. Earlier this week, it was announced that the country has had a woman as prime minister, Elizabeth Borne, for the second time. She will meet with President Emmanuel Macron later Friday with a new government team.
Colonna would succeed Jean-Yves Le Drian. Finance ministers, Bruno Le Maire, and the interior minister, Gérald Darmanin, are said to remain in their ministerial posts in the new government, according to initial reports. It will meet for the first time on Monday.
