Walls of the house had to be demolished to get the woman out and transferred to a hospital in Nancy, the channel ‘France 3’ reports.
A special ambulance for obese people from Belgium was deployed for the operation. The woman lived in Stenay for about 20 years and had previously refused all medical attention.
The operation, which authorities say was unseen in France, took an hour. She was prepared months in advance. Several streets in the area were closed off.
