Loading and unloading is now faster. Nicolas Dehaemers, co-manager NDQ Zeebrugge: “That is certainly a milestone in our history. We have been in existence for 19 years. We have made major investments and from now on we can handle conventional train wagons inside our warehouse.”

Goods arrive here by rail and can then leave on trailers for the United Kingdom. Partner and rail freight transporter Lineas also sees advantages in this innovation. Lieven Goethals, Lineas rail freight transport Belgium: “This is now our second customer in Zeebrugge who is building a large rail shed where the train can enter. So that contributes to the credo of greening supplies. After all, one freight train replaces 50 trucks.”

With the train connection, the warehouse is immediately connected to Scandinavia, Poland, Southern Europe and actually an endless network of rail destinations.
