Bundesliga soccer team SC Freiburg will rotate in the goalkeeper position in the DFB Cup against second division club SC Paderborn.
As coach Christian Streich explained, substitute goalkeeper Florian Müller will make his first appearance of the season in the second round game on Wednesday (6 p.m.). “He deserves it,” said Streich, adding that this was “no problem at all” for regular goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.
However, Streich warned against taking the home game against the outsiders lightly.
“Our focus is only on Paderborn,” said the 58-year-old on Tuesday, adding that they have not yet dealt with their upcoming Bundesliga opponents Borussia Mönchengladbach: “I assume that it will be tight and we have to give everything we can to get through the round to move forward.”
