At least until the game against RB Leipzig (currently fifth) on Monday, Freiburg are in fourth place, which entitles them to participate in the premier class. The team from Breisgau won the spectacular Baden duel on match day 32 of the Bundesliga at TSG Hoffenheim (April 30) 4:3 (1:1). Roland Sallai, Christian Günter, Lucas Höler and Woo-Yeong Jeong scored for Freiburg. The goals for TSG, who led 2-1 at times, were scored by Andrej Kramaric, Angelo Stiller and Sebastian Rudy. TSG Hoffenheim, eighth in the Bundesliga, missed out on getting closer to the international places with the defeat.
Waiting start of both teams
Freiburg coach Christian Streich changed to two positions: Manuel Gulde and Lucas Höler started for Woo-Yeong Jeong and Ermedin Demirovic. At TSG, Pavel Kaderabek replaced Stefan Posch (suspended), Christoph Baumgartner started for Jacob Bruun Larsen. The game was initially characterized by duels. Roland Sallai puts SC Freiburg in the lead

Hoffenheim’s Kramaric equalizes
Coach Sebastian Hoeneß’s team didn’t let themselves be put off by the deficit and equalized through Kramaric (32′). Kramaric’s fifth goal of the season was set by David Raum with a cross from the left. The Croatian switched the fastest in the penalty area and hit the left corner with the first contact. Six minutes later, Baumgartner had the chance to take the lead, but his shot from around 16 meters went wide of the goal on the right. It was 1-1 at the break.
Stiller with the 2-1 for Hoffenheim, Freiburg equalizes in return
At the beginning of the second half, Streich substituted his noble joker Nils Petersen for Gulde. But the hosts managed to make it 2-1. Angelo Stiller (49th) took a dry shot from Kramaric into the right corner. However, the leadership did not last long. Freiburg captain Christian Günter shot 94 seconds after the deficit from 17 meters and hit the bottom right corner to make it 2:2 (50th). The game was balanced, both teams had their chances. After a good hour, Höler almost put the SC in the lead. He didn’t fully hit a high cross from Petersen five meters from the goal.
Freiburg meets twice within a few seconds
20 minutes before the end, Hoffenheim’s Diadie Samassekou was lucky not to be sent off after a foul. Freiburg’s anger didn’t last long, however, because Höler headed the free kick that Günter had kicked into the net to make it 3-2 (70′). And just a few moments later, Freiburg increased. Substitute Jeong, who was only on the field for 65 seconds, accepted a pass from Nico Schlotterbeck excellently and deliberately pushed the ball into the goal to make it 4-2 (73′). The game seemed decided, but Hoffenheim’s Sebastian Rudy reduced the deficit to 3:4 (84 ‘) after an attack down the left flank shortly before the end. Substitute Georginio Rutter initiated the attack. In injury time, Freiburg keeper Flekken first parried a header, then Rutter had a great chance to equalize with the follow-up shot, which he missed from close range. SC Freiburg won.
