A month ago, there was news about a free athlete Olli Santalahten28, for a blatant refereeing error in a Brave Combat Federation match.

Russian Kamal Magomedov hit Santalahte several times with an elbow to the back of the head during the match. Blows to the rear fury are prohibited in the rules.

When the third round was behind only a good minute, the cage judge Declan Larkin asked the contestants to stand up. He stopped the match and condemned Santalahti as the loser due to excessive bleeding. Larkin hadn’t responded to disallowed elbows in the first two rounds.

Dismayed by the decision, Santalahti made a protest and demanded that the final result of the match be annulled. He was ready to take revenge against Magomedov.

On Tuesday, the player from Turku received a blunt answer from Brave’s home country, the Bahrain Freestyle Association. The protest was rejected.

– I am very confused about this and next I will find out how to get out of that organization’s contract, Santalahti told IL.

On top of everything, the referee stopped the match when Santalahti was on top of Magomedov on the mat and was looking for a finishing technique.

Even the violent picture was not enough

IL has seen the response from the Bahrain Freestyle Association.

According to the association, the match videos did not support Santalahti’s protest. It did not see that Magomedov was elbowed in the back of the head several times.

The video shared by Santalahti also puts the arguments in a special light. If you don’t see the update below, you can view it from this link.

Photographic evidence of Santalahti’s quilted wound was immediately taken in Bahrain. Even they weren’t enough.

The ruling says the wound is more than one inch beyond the back of the head. According to the Bahrain Freestyle Association, the occiput is defined as the midline running along the occipital bone and the area next to the midline by one inch.

Santalahti previously shared a measurement photo in the story section of Instagram, based on which the wound was exactly one inch to the side of the occipital bone.

– FFG disapproves of the decision of the Bahrain Freestyle Association on the outcome of the Olli Santalahti vs Kamal Magomedov match on 19 October 2022 in the Brave CF 63 freestyle event and at the same time wants to show its support to Olli Santalahti.

Santalahti, who has 13 wins and 5 losses on his list, is known for the fact that his body and head can withstand hits. He has never been knocked out in a professional match.
